The Beginning
BlackOak Consulting was founded in 2020 by a team of ERP consultants with over 17 years of experience implementing tier-one enterprise solutions. When the pandemic hit, businesses needed cloud-based systems that could run from anywhere. But the ERP industry wasn’t ready to admit the real gap.
Most solutions were still designed for large enterprises with dedicated IT departments and large budgets. SMEs were told to wait. Or to settle for tools that would never scale. We started BlackOak because we believed the sequence was wrong.
SMEs don’t need simpler software. They need the same rigour applied earlier, before the workarounds become the operating model.
That belief has not changed since day one.
We believe the hardest part of an ERP project isn’t the software. It’s getting the business to decide how it actually wants to operate.
Most companies skip that step. We don’t.
Our mission is to help Malaysian SMEs get that foundation right first, so the system works from day one and scales as the business grows.
The Name
We use the Oak tree to represent the our image. One that symbolizes deep rooted knowledge that forms our core strength to innovate and constantly renew our knowledge.
